KATE MOSS ATTENDING THE FUNERAL OF ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

NAOMI CAMPBELL ATTENDING ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FUNERAL

Heiress Daphne Guinness Attending Alexander McQueen's Funeral

According the Daily Mail:

In the saddest fashion parade London has seen, the clothes that made the taxi driver’s son famous went discreetly on show at his funeral.

Not that his clothes – or the celebrities for which he created them – were allowed to steal the day.

That belonged yesterday to a family which lost not so much the man so many had hailed as a genius, but a son, brother, uncle, and friend.

High priests and priestesses of the fashion world were among the guests and photographers invited to take pictures as they came and went.

The ceremony was attended Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney.

UGG-SESSED

For a lot of people the thought of walking around wearing Uggs is unconscionable. The word Ugg stands for Ugly in the minds of many. However, pull up to any junior or high school in America and it’s hard to spot a kid without a pair on. We wondered why kids are so ugg-ssessed these days. Recently, our Style News Reporters were out shopping and came across two absolutely adorable tweens. So we decided to ask them about this trend.

Ansley & Tamera Rockin Their Uggs

Tamera and Ansley, best friends from Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania told us that kids like Uggs because they’re practical. “They’re comfy and warm” says Tamera. So we wondered if there  are  any high end designer brands kids wear? “Juicy Couture but when people wear name brand shirts like everyday, it get’s to be really boring” says Ansley. Well, why do you have to wear Uggs? The girls proceeded to educate us on the purpose of Uggs. We then asked  how long they thought this trend would last; they both said ” a really long time“.

In tween terms, that means this trend will be out before the next school bell rings!

Recording artist Katy Perry better known as “I kissed a girl and I liked it” covers the March issue of Nylon magazine. When it comes to Perry’s style make no mistake she’s no girly girl. She tells Nylon:

“Some of the kid sh%t I’ve grown out of completely…  I’m taking it out of the Shirley Temple, Betty Boop, Lichtenstein kind of thing.  It’s still fun, but a bit darker.  It’s not as annoying.  Sometimes, I feel like a big strawberry with a face on it.”

STYLE THIEF: KELLY OSBOURNE

YABBA DABBA DO you like this? Here’s Kelly Osbourne in attendance at the Jeremy Scott Fall 2010 runway show. Kelly who sat front row wore Scott’s Flintstone inspired dress. It was nice to see Kelly looking like Fred Flintstone . We would have really gotten a kick out of this, if she had brought along Pebbles and Bam Bam.

Should We Be Afraid?

French Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld was in the attendance at the Diesel Black Gold Fall 2010 Runway Show. Roitfeld, is rumored to be next in line as editor in chief of American Vogue. We hear that she smiles more than Anna Wintour but by the looks of this photo we can’t tell. If American Vogue says bonjour to her we may have to say Au revoir to our subscription.

Kim Kardashian wants you to smell just  like her. So much so that she flew back to New York just 2 days after leaving. Kim returned to promote her perfume at Sephora. The original in store promotion was canceled due to snow. But there was no need for anyone to worry their pretty little heads. Any good  A-list reality star worth their salt will commit to peddling perfume in the absence of talent. Now, we will be able to breathe in Manhattan’s fresh air as there will be hundreds of New Yorkers smelling just like Kim.

B.T.W Kim is wearing the ONE SHOULDER SHIMMER DRESS from her  BeBe collection the dress retails for $119. The shoes are CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN PLATFORM PUMPS that retail for $695 and are available at Neiman Marcus.

Fashion Week’s Flash Mob

We don’t know whether to laugh or criticize this video. Here’s footage of Glamour magazine’s flash mob suprising uninterested New Yorkers outside of Bryant Park. This surely has nothing to do with fashion but at least it promotes exercise.
